Fort Worth Arena

FORT WORTH ARENA

FORT WORTH, TX | The Fort Worth Arena contributes to the rich diversity of the city’s Cultural District. Home to the famed Stock Show and Rodeo, the Arena anchors the southern end of the District. MVLA’s 5-acre green roof has expansive views and is built over the Arena’s technical and animal support facility. MVLA’s close collaboration with David M. Schwarz Architects resulted in a design that successfully manages high volumes of people and animals moving through the site, without overwhelming the facilities and visitors. To screen visitors from Fort Worth’s intense climate, lush plantings were sourced two years prior to installation. Human-scale details and textural vegetation reminiscent of the region’s Cross Timbers ecotone creates a comfortable and welcoming landscape to relax and visit before a rodeo or star-studded concert.
