Building off the history of the Orchard Knob Farm's seven-acre site and the surrounding landscape, MVLA developed a comprehensive design for this residence in Pennsylvania. The goal of the design was to resurrect the bones of an earlier garden through the development of a series of design vignettes, enriched by careful detailing into a cohesive master plan. Landscape interventions connect the architectural elements creating interstitial spaces, which reference the property's historical style and materiality while articulating a decidedly contemporary design. The design reflects the idea of landscape as interior and exterior rooms and the connecting spaces in between.
