Historic Sites    

Careful evaluation of a site’s cultural patterns and historic traces requires a great ability to read a place. Even more challenging is layering upon this history a graceful and elegant design that reveals and integrates new and demanding visitation and uses. We have enjoyed this challenge with a series of successful designs at several World Heritages sites, presidential homes, Olmsted landscapes, nationally and regionally significant landmarks, and archaeological sites. With every project, MVLA defines a delicate, thoughtful design process in order to develop solutions that respect the past but are distinctly forward-looking.
