The siting of the new Visitor Center reshapes the arrival experience by routing visitors to engage views of the Channel prior to entering the Cemetery, providing a sense of the vastness of the D-Day Invasion. This exposes the visitor to the topographic and tactical challenges of the assault and provides a greater understanding and appreciation of the bravery of those engaged in the Omaha Beach landing. MVLA collaborated with SmithGroup on the design.
