The Falls Church    Falls Church, Virginia

Established in 1732 by an act of the General Assembly, the 'Church on the road to the falls' was the seat of the newly formed Truro Parish. During his brief tenure as a member of the vestry, George Washington helped to commission a new brick church. Designed in the 'colonial style,' the church was constructed in 1768, directly north of the original wood building. Since that time, The Falls Church has been host to many significant people and events in the developmental history of the region and nation. Since initial involvement in 1996, MVLA has embraced its role in the stewardship of this historic landscape and provides ongoing assistance to the Vestry in numerous projects that improve the grounds and support facilities for a rapidly growing congregation.
