The Back Mountain region of northeast Pennsylvania is characterized by rolling topography, a mosaic of field and forest, and a network of hedgerow and dry laid fieldstone walls. MVLA's new design framework is the result of research into existing cultural patterns of the site, which revealed linear traces in the landscape and architecture. The site design gave new life and interpretation to these site fragments and patterns.
