Lan has over twenty years of experience working as designer and project manager of a wide range of projects, from residential to public space to master plans.  She brings to the design team her strong design training, a solid technical understanding of construction methods, great attention to detail, and a dogged desire to achieve a high level of quality to those details.  Her work at MVLA has received both local and national awards.  

Beyond design and project management, Lan continues to advocate for gender equity in the design of the built environment. She has presented at the Association for Community Design conference, American Institute of Architects Design DC conference, and Women in Architecture lecture series, as well as led Jane’s Walks through local neighborhoods to promote community design. She earned both a Bachelor of Science in 1991 and a Master of Landscape Architecture in 1997 from the University of Virginia.
