Doug Hays

Doug’s 30-year career encompasses a wide range of landscape architectural project types and scales. His knowledge of landscape architecture runs broad and deep, contributing technical expertise and an elegant aesthetic to every project. Doug is a Senior Associate and has been with MVLA for more than13 years.

Before joining MVLA, Doug served in both the public and private sectors. While at the National Park Service, he was the Landscape Architect assigned to the White House during the Ford, Carter and Reagan Presidencies, and then as Project Coordinator for the reconstruction of the Filene Center at Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts. He was an Associate while at EDAW and then served as Vice President at HOH Associates, Inc. where he received an ASLA National Honor Award for The NVRPA Scenic Easement Restoration. Doug is a registered Landscape Architect, a member of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Board (CLARB), and ASLA.
